Cultures can be maintained by addition of fresh medium, or by collecting cells as a pellet after centrifugation. The packed cells are then resuspended in fresh medium. The initial inoculum should not be less than 2 to 3 x 10⁵ viable cells/mL. A maximum of 1 to 2 x 10⁶ cells/mL are obtainable. Do not aspirate suspension to break up clumped cells.
