The 2.0 kb BamHI/PstI fragment detects the following human genomic restriction fragments (kb): SfiI--225; SalI--380, 510; SacII, PvuI, MluI--greater than 2000; SfiI/SacII--225; SfiI/MluI--225; SfiI/PvuI--225. The 2.0 kb BamHI/PstI fragment comes from the 5' untranslated region. The original published sequence in J. Biol. Chem. 265: 17307-17317, 1990 is incorrect. The GenBank record is correct. The 2 kb BamHI/PstI fragment is a unique sequence in the genome. The 0.95 kb fragment hybridizes to a 1.8 kb PstI fragment apparently mapping to chromosome 2 and a 5.9 kb PstI fragment apparently mapping to chromosome 4. The 2.0 kb BamHI/PstI fragment detects a 3.0 kb PstI fragment specific to mouse chromosome 19. |
