X4001-39A shows partial disomy of chromosome VI as established at the YGSC by OFAGE gel electrophoresis and genetic analysis. It yields two copies of chromosome VI: one migrating in the normal position for chromosome VI, and a partial chromosome (which includes the right arm of this chromosome) migrating as a band below the one for chromosome I. When a strain is run on an OFAGE or CHEF gel and probed, the user can determine which arm of chromosome VI a gene maps to.
